Seeks to recognize and acknowledge faculty and students who are leading the advancement of interdisciplinary research and design in architecture and construction. This call for entries is intentionally broad, seeking already or nearly completed work, to allow a diversity of collaborative work to be through competitive vetting and award. Work completed by May 1, 2023, including research projects, workshops, educational projects or design projects generated from interdisciplinary teams of faculty, industry leaders, or students, that demonstrate the value of collaboration, as part of the process, will be prioritized in the evaluation and awards selection.
Registration Advance registration, by February 1, 2023 is required. There is no penalty for registrants who do not make a final submission.
Qualification Any group of graduate students, doctoral candidates, faculty or industry professional and academic collaborations, working in a collaborative manner on a research, design, construction or education project may enter. Each member listed as part of the collaborative team must register as members of the A+CA (at no cost to faculty or students). We will not solicit members but will send informational updates on the A+CA activities and opportunities.
Submissions Submissions must be received by midnight pacific time on May 1, 2023 to be considered. The submission system will close at midnight.

Submissions must be uploaded to the submission portal at www.aplusca.org by midnight on May 1, 2023.
Judging The A+CA Executive Committee will designate judges representing architecture and construction management from three different programs from among the active institutional membership. Judges will prioritize breadth of interdisciplinary teams, demonstration of the value of collaboration, and those that specifically identify the benefits of the collaborative process in achieving positive outcomes in research, education, design or construction projects. The results of the judging process will be final and not open to appeal. The submission of work for consideration of the A+CA judges is also an agreement to the terms and criteria for judging and acceptance of the submissions selected for award. All persons listed as participants must have A+CA membership to receive the award.
Awards Four submissions will be recognized as the winning entries. The representative from the winning groups will receive award stipends as follows: two $2,000 stipends to doctoral and graduate students and two $1,500 stipends to faculty/professionals. Four more submissions will receive honorable mention awards that recognize high quality contributions to collaboration.
Use of Submissions By submitting their work, entrants agree to have their submissions posted on the A+CA website as submitted.
